Mathematics is a unique subject in that it serves as the basic language of many diverse disciplines and fields of study.   Mathematics allows society to quantify and discuss the world around us, from the concrete to the abstract.

 

 

The math department at McNally endeavors to provide high quality math instruction that will enable all students to succeed in their courses and prepare them for post-secondary or the world of work.

 

Students at McNally have a choice of four different programs of study.

 

Students with the skills and habits necessary to succeed in an enriched program of studies geared to entrance into university.

 

Students wanting to complete the highest level of math programming offered by Alberta Learning geared to university entrance into engineering and sciences. Pure Math 30 is not a requirement for all university programs, however it can be presented as an option.

 

Students wanting to complete a diploma program in mathematics but do not require Pure Math 30 to gain entrance into post secondary programs.

 

Students wanting to complete the basic credit requirement for their high school diploma.
