Congratulations to our girls rugby team. They won the City Championship by defeating Memorial, 27-15 in the final. Excellent work by coach Ms. Long and players.  

  

 
Provincial Champion
 
Congratulations to Richard and Matthew. At the Alberta Skills Competition, May 17-18 in Edmonton, Richard won GOLD and Matthew won SILVER in the Website Design Competition. Richard now competes at Nationals in Vancouver, June 5 - 8. Both students are part of Mr. Couprie's Robotics and Computer Science class.  

  

 
YWCA Woman of Distinction

Mackenzie Martin

Mackenzie is a 17 yr old youth who is commited to a strong and vibrant Edmonton and Alberta. Currently, Mackenzie is a student at McNally and plans to attend the U of A to pursue her interests in education and public health. She is an optimistic teenageer who is passionate about equality and fairness, especially raising awareness regarding the issues facing girls. To that end, Mackenzie works in the community to highlight and address the challenges facing girls locally and globally. She volunteers with Nellie McClung, Braemar, and Terra. She also organized a local conference for the International Day of the Girl and serves on the provincial Minister's Student Advisory Council. Mackenzie believes she is part of a worldwide phenomenon of people and organizations working for the equality and advancement of women and girls so that they can take their full place in safe and inclusive societies.

Congratulations to Mr. Bell and the wrestling team. They are the 2013 4A Provincial Wrestling Champions.

Congratulations to Mr. Couprie who is a recipient of the Prime Minster's Award for Excellence in Teaching. He received a Certificate of Achievement.

Former McNally student, John Wong, was featured in the Edmonton Journal Arts & Life section, Tues, Nov 6.  The former Grad '99 student was one of the animators who worked on Disney's Wreck-It-Ralph.

Bike A Thon Huge Success

8th Annual McNally Spirit 24 Hour Bike-a-thon               November 29 and 30th

Congratulations to McNally High School for another successful Tiger Spirit Bike-a-thon.  With the support of their families, the community, the Student Union and the McNally Staff,
Bike-a-thon participants raised   $55, 700 for the Kids with Cancer Society and the Fire Fighters’ Burn Treatment Society.   McNally’s students have now donated over $407 000
to cancer fighting and children’s charities since 1999. 

Highlights of the Bike-a-thon were Hypnotist Wayne Lee,  D.J.  Mike Palma  ("Your Friendly Neighborhood DJ) and Zumba dance instructor Melissa Di Natale .
